Handweaving is an Ancient Art.

Made through a peaceful and timeless process, it allows me to feel more in touch with, and a part of, the natural world around me.

I created Threads of Iona after many years of working with wool and being part of the Craft Industry. In the past I owned and managed a shop in Glastonbury UK, specialising in quality Celtic Craftwork from Britain and Ireland. After moving north to Iona, a small island on the west coast of Scotland, I am currently creating original weaving items for sale, and am also part of a craft cooperative(Oran Crafts) on the island.

“My inspiration comes from the very beautiful, ever changing colours of the sea and landscape around me. My goal is to continue the legacy of handweaving on the island, and to build a permanent centre here for creative weaving in the coming years”

There is respect, gratitude and love in the making of these simple weavings. Each piece is unique, and vibrant, with what seems a quality of that timeless process of the Ancient Art.
